Wilma Kwiatkowski

A very good freind of mine died this morning.
It was very peaceful, the preist issued her last rites and she passed immediatley following that.
She raised four great daughters, Mary, Sam, Elizabeth and my fiance Rebecca.
Although I never got the chance to tell Wilma, she made a huge difference in my life.
Had it not been for her, I never would've met the two people who mean the most to me......Rebecca and her son Dillon.
Nor would I have met the rest of the extended family who accepted me fom day one.
Thank you for that.
The last time I talked to Wilma was Wed. night she told me something I consider to be the greatest compliment I have ever recieved.
I am not going to share with you what she told me, but suffice it to say if somebody as awesome as Wilma Kwiatkowski thinks I am good enough for her grandson and daughter, I am truely blessed.......and that's good enough for me.
REST WELL WILMA

Sen. Brownback (Kansas) on C02

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- On a day when the temperature didn't reach double digits, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback called for reductions in greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.
Speaking with reporters Tuesday, the Republican presidential candidate said most scientists agree that rising levels of carbon dioxide have caused a rise in global temperatures. Brownback said levels of carbon dioxide, or Co2, have increased since the industrial revolution but have risen more quickly in recent decades.
(no no no no wrong wrong wrong!!!)

"It seems to me just prudent that we recognize we have climate increase and temperature change," he said. "We have CO2 loading and we need to reduce the amount of Co2 in the atmosphere."
Brownback was in Iowa for the first time since officially launching his candidacy Jan. 20. He spent most of Tuesday in Cedar Rapids, where he met with conservative activists and took questions from reporters on a variety of topics.
Although Brownback said global temperatures had risen and climate change needed to be addressed, he declined to use the term "global warming."
"The temperature has risen," Brownback said.
Although early polls indicate Sen. John McCain, former New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney are favorite in Iowa's precinct caucuses, which launch the presidential nominating process, Brownback said he wasn't concerned. Brownback said time and more visits across the state would enable him to solidify his standing as a true conservative contender.
"It's a pro-life party. I'm for cutting taxes. This is an economically conservative party. Those are my positions," he said. "So I think when a proper voter contact is made, when it's not just on name ID, but where you stand on the issues, I'm going to do very well."
Okay, just because he's a 'publican doesn't mean he's not a dumbass.
This is taken from the "Real Incovienent Truth"
Basically it is a rebuttal to Al Gores lies and untruths movie, "The Inconvienent Truth."
The notion that our atmosphere acts like a greenhouse – that is, so-called atmospheric “greenhouse gases,” like water vapor and CO2, “trap” incoming solar radiation to warm the atmosphere – is wrong. Not only doesn’t the atmosphere work that way, greenhouses don’t either.
Greenhouses work by physically blocking heat transfer (by convection) from inside to outside – the same effect that heats the inside of your car when it’s parked in the sun on a hot day. Opening the doors and windows allows air currents to flow and the heat to dissipate. But neither the atmosphere nor “greenhouse gases” block convection, so there is no literal atmospheric “greenhouse effect.”
AsCO2 increases in the atmosphere, it absorbs less and less additional energy to produce correspondingly less and less additional warming. At some point, adding more CO2 to the atmosphere doesn’t significantly change atmospheric temperature.
To analogize, consider a window with many shades, each blocking half the incoming light. As successive shades are pulled, the transmitted light is halved and the effect of each shade is diminished. Eventually, there’s no additional effect because previous shades have already absorbed the light to all but a vanishing degree. As more shades won’t block more light, more CO2 won’t cause significantly more warming.
In fact, there’s been more than enough greenhouse gas in the atmosphere to cause much greater warming than actually occurs since long before humans discovered fire.
So what's the point at which more CO2 doesn’t cause more warming? Are we near it? The commonly-used range of estimates of CO2’s impact on global temperature should help put any worry into perspective.
A doubling of atmospheric CO2 from pre-Industrial Revolution days (280 parts per million to 560 ppm), MIGHT increase
globalemperature from between 0.5 degrees Centigrade to 1.5 degrees Centigrade – that is, not much.
The current atmospheric CO2 level is about 380 ppm and the estimated temperature increase since 1880 (when regular temperature recordkeeping began) is estimated to be about 0.60 degrees Centigrade.
Since at least half of this temperature increase pre-dated 1950 – prior to any significant increase in atmospheric CO2 levels – we can estimate that the 30 percent increase in atmospheric CO2 since the Industrial Revolution is associated with a temperature increase of about 0.30 degrees Centigrade. This supports the idea that doubling atmospheric CO2 from pre-Industrial Revolution levels would cause less than a one degree Centigrade increase – and we’re not close to such a doubling.

So there you have it folks.

Sen. Clinton to Bush: 'Extricate' U.S. From Iraq Before Leaving Office

"It would be "the height of irresponsibility" to pass the war along to the next commander in chief, she said."
DC's RESPONSE:
Of course you think this Rodham, you wouldn't want anything to do with anything that would require some tough decisions or sacrifice.
"I am going to level with you, the president has said this is going to be left to his successor," Clinton said. "I think it is the height of irresponsibility and I really resent it."
DC's RESPONSE:
It's going to be left to his successor because it's going take longer than 5 years to wipe out the terrorists, not because he doesn't want to deal with it you friggin' retard.
See folks, this is typical ultra left craaaaap, and deception.
We are fighting the war there, Rodham, so we don't have to fight it on our shores.
Check out Germany, Rodham...we're still there!
"The question is, we face a lot of dangers in the world and, in the gentleman's words, we face a lot of evil men and what in my background equips me to deal with evil and bad men, I believe that my qualification and my life experience equip me to hit the ground running in January of 2009," Clinton said. "I have a unique perspective having been in the White House for eight years and understanding the challenge that comes from trying to govern our great country."
DC's RESPONSE:
UM.... EXCUSE F'ING ME? JUST EXACTLY WHAT POSITION WERE YOU ELECTED TO IN THE WHITE HOUSE, RODHAM?
Let me list them here:
NONE
0
GOOSE EGG
NADA
ZIPPO
ZILCH
Again folks, she actually BELIEVES she was in the white house governing something/somebody.
No, she doesn't actually SAY that, but that's what she means trust me. Elitist, ultra left wing snob.
And another thing Rodham.....you understand exactly ZILCH about running this country if you are going to use your husband as an example because "You were in the white house for 8 years"....ever hear of"Black Hawk Down" Slick Willie cut and ran out of Somalia as fast as he could after that...gutless wonder.
"My participation in the Iowa caucuses is the only thing in politics that I will do that Bill has not done," she said.
DC's RESPONSE:
Well, that and get a blow job in the oval office.
DOH!!!

A new direction from here, means what?

The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401K's are back.
A new direction from there means, what?
Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?
Oil prices are plummeting.
A new direction from there means, what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means, what?
The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year.
A new direction from there means, what?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from t here means, what?
Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?
Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means, what?
Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Queda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel.
A new direction from there means, what?
Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks.
A new direction from there means, what?
Just as President Bush foretold us on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as President Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are arriving from the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here.
A new direction from there means, what?
Now let me see, do I have this right?
I can expect: The economy to go South
Illegals to go North
Taxes to go Up
Employment to go Down
Terrorism to come In
Tax breaks to go Out
Social Security to go away
Health Care to go the same way gas prices have gone
But what the heck !I can gain comfort by knowing that Nancy P, Hillary C, John K, Edward K, Howard D, Harry R and Obama have worked hard to create a comprehensive National Security Plan, Health Care Plan, Immigration Reform Plan, Gay Rights Plan, Same Sex Marriage Plan, Abortion On Demand Plan, Tolerance of Everyone and Everything Plan, How to Return all Troops to the U.S. in The Next Six Months Plan, A Get Tough Plan, adapted from the French Plan by the same name and a How Everyone Can Become as Wealthy as We Are Plan. I forgot the No More Katrina Storm Plan. Now I know why I feel good after the elections. I am going to be able to sleep so much
better at nights knowing these dedicated politicians are thinking of me and my welfare.

Saddam Hussein Transferred to Iraqi Custody; Judge Says He'll Be Executed by Saturday

The Butcher of Baghdad will be dead by tomorrow.
EXCELLENT!
Hang this son of a bitch from the highest tree you can find, he was a murderer, rapist, waste of protoplasm of a human being. He had execution squads roaming the streets for people who opposed him, his sons picked women off the street to rape. Oh, by the way we got them too in a fire fight.
And for you idiot libs out there, this is how JUSTICE is served. NOT NEGOTIATING, he is a terrorist, he supported terrorism, he does not negotiate. period.
Now the world is a safer place because of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA......AGAIN!
Maybe the next terrorist that comes along will think twice about conspiring to kill Americans.
My only regret is I'm not pulling the lever.

For the soldiers - twas the night before christmas

T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,HE LIVED ALL ALONE,IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OFPLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEYWITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,AND TO SEE JUST WHOIN THIS HOME DID LIVE.LOOKED ALL ABOUT,A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURESOF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,A SOBER THOUGHTCAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,SILENT, ALONE,CURLED UP ON THE FLOORIN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,NOT HOW I PICTURED A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON ROUND THE WORLD,THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE,ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.
THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY,THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,MY LIFE IS MY GOD,MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,I CONTINUED TO WEEP.
I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,SO SILENT AND STILL AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVEON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR SO WILLING TO FIGHT.
THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA,IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT."MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT."

Pastor with some cahonees!!

This Pastor has guts!! Thought you might enjoy this interesting
Prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems
prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open
the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the
usual generalities, but....this is what they heard:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness
and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to
Those who call evil good"... but that is exactly what we have done. We
have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it
building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and
called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from
every sin and set us free. Amen!"
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during
the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church,
where Rev Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls
with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving
international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The
Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program
than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer
sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again
can be called "one nation Under God."
Thanks to my good buddy and softball player extrodanaire, Tanker!

PEARL HARBOR DAY DEC. 7TH!

DID YOU KNOW?
The Japanese military cabinet had convinced itself that Americans had “no stomach” for fighting, but Yamamoto (The Japanese Admiral that led the attack) wasn’t so sure.
"Once the American war machine was up and running, he said, it would be akin to “waking the sleeping giant.” Japan’s only chance for a positive outcome was to strike hard at Pearl Harbor and at as many targets as possible, and hope Washington would contact Tokyo to sue for peace.
Obviously that didn't happen, and obviously Admiral Yamamoto was right about the American war machine, after living and studying here, he knew what we were capable of.
(Yamamoto attended Harvard University, and was also an attache in Washington.)

PEACE MORE SECURE THAN VICTORY?

My letter made the paper today in response....here's his article...my response is below........
This was a guest opinion in the Iowa City press Citizen :
*******************
A war with a "foreign devil," like Saddam Hussein, may serve the purposes of a leader that desires to control the thinking of his people, but a bogus threat to their security does not assist that people in their effort to find a better way for themselves and the neighbors with whom they must live.
"They hate us and want to destroy our way of life" is not uttered by George W. Bush to encourage a brave consideration of the successful sharing of our planet with others. It is propaganda set to inflame the emotions and block a wider search for a better course.
And the media-merchants of derision and division on talk radio and cable news -- in greedy grasp for greater notoriety and larger fortune -- even stoop to charge that an American who questions is guilty of hating his or her own country.
Regardless, with courage and in love of what America stands for and with the resolve of the founders, we can see through this dank and distorting fog of words and find our better way and joint with all people of goodwill in stamping out terrorism and things that breed its inception. To this end I suggest that we turn the larger responsibility for the Iraqi problem over to the people that face it most directly, the Eastern Arab World, and non Arab neighbors that share boards with Iraq.
The world's No. 1 power should request that these nations hold a summit and take charge of establishing a peace in Iraq that allows these beleaguered people to find enough security to pursue their own special way of life. The undertaking would be challenging, but not as impossible as for an outside force to impose its solution into the region.
By turning the problem over to those most directly affected, "We the People" free ourselves from this quagmire and can directly focus our intellect and energy on the unending Constitutional tasks to, "establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." In vigorous pursuit of these, we will be seen by the world for what we really are: a good neighbor that uses its incredible power and sense of justice to encourage and assist others in doing the same.
This problem is rooted in the old geopolitics of exploitation within spheres of influence and a neo version of the same only makes things worse. We do not need to find a way to peace, peace is the way. And peace is not an inactive way, anymore than love is just the absence of hate -- love is a powerful engulfing force that generates more of the same.
Were we to have as much courage in pursuing peace as we do in having others die for us in war, and if we committed as many material resources in its behest as we have in the destruction of differing others, we make peace quicker than it can ever be found in a war that somehow at its end must fortuitously stumble into it.
Yes, protect ourselves we must and we will, but the preemptive willingness to shoot first and ask questions later is no protection. It is the assassination of all that makes life worthwhile in the first place.
We claim that "We the People" are capable of government of us, by us and for us. There has not been anything in the drinking water in North America that has made only the people of this continent special in this regard. We are special because we know that humans are special and are endowed by their Creator with an inalienable virtue that must be respected by us all.

Radical Muslims are a real threat:
By PCopinion Posted at 11:12 AM on December 5, 2006
Sam Osborne is living in a rainbow, candy-cane covered world (“Peace more secure than victory,” Dec. 3).
He needs to wake up and smell the roses. We’re not the ones that want to wipe anyone out. The terrorists are the ones that flew planes into the World Trade Center — or did Osborne miss that? I am so sick of all the “blame America first” people. Don’t they understand that by taking the fight to the terrorists, we don’t have to fight it on our shores?
Has Osborne ever seen and or heard the Islamic fascist vitriol? It’s not some fantasy made up by talk radio or President Bush. It’s real. Doesn’t he understand that he wouldn’t be able to say what he thinks if they would somehow take over?Hello!?
Thank God Osborne is a retired “teacher.” I certainly wouldn’t want any of my children learning the poison he would have them believe.
I suppose we shouldn’t have attacked Japan either after they wiped out Pearl Harbor.
I suggest Osborne do a little research before writing that we can all live in peace. He needs to get it through his head that the radical Muslims are a threat. Period.

Teens expelled for movie where teddy bears attack teacher:
Okay, I'm all for free speech and all that too, but sometimes you have to use your heads a little bit guys. With today's climate in schools, I guess you just never know.
I don't think I would've expelled them. But definetley need to be talked to about it. This probably was totally harmless, but again, you have to use your heads boys. That's just the way it is.

PETA names Nicole Richie worst-dressed celeb:
Ashley Olsen, Eva Longoria also make this year's list

Nicole Richie has more to deal with than denying that she has an eating disorder: PETA has just named Richie the world’s worst-dressed celeb.
“This pelt-wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones,” notes the animal rights group. “She’s an incredible shrinking woman with the heart to match.”
Ashley Olsen is the runner-up. “Wearing fur does add 20 pounds,” PETA says, “but if Ashley wants to fill out her frame, we suggest using a fork instead.”

“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria also made the worst dressed list. Opines PETA: “You’d think she’d be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane.”
Paris Hilton, who topped last year’s list, was let off the hook this year because she stopped wearing furs after seeing a grisly PETA video about the fur industry. But a spokesman for the group says they’re still taking a “wait and see” attitude before asking the underwear-eschewing heiress to become one of the PETA’s “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” models.
Heh heh, well if PETA doesn't like these gals, that means I do!

SO BE IT!

So Be It!
THE LAW IS THE LAW
So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart.
BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?
Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.I'd like the "US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day.I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break."After all it's just another day.I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."In fact....I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says thatit should be just another day....What do you all think????

Have a "Shay Day"

An uplifting litte story:
I read this and thought you would appreciate it too.

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?" The audience was stilled by the query. The father continued. "I believe, that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child." Then he told the following story:Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?" Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps. Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning." Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball. However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher. The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled. Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home. All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay"Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third!" As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team. "That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world".Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

IAEA: Unexplained Plutonium, Enriched Uranium Traces Found in Iran

Not to be an alarmist here guys, but this is bad.
I'm sure they think they'll wait two years, until Bush is out of office, hope a democat gets in, and send one on over here, believing we won't do anything because we have a democat in office.
We need to go blast their plant NOW, but of course that won't happen. If people understood what the hell was going on, this would never be a problem. We're fighting the war in Iraq to keep from having to fight the war here. See? If we allow Iran to continue on the present course, same thing will happen.

Hawkeyes need accountability:
By PCopinion Posted at 11:02 AM on November 9, 2006
At the end of the game last Saturday, I heard someone near the end of the game say, “It’s only a game.” Funny how that comment always seems to come from the losing side. Being at the game last Saturday, I willingly admit to being one of the scattered fans who booed the team.Just like I did in 2001 during Iowa vs. Michigan, I saw a team that lacked the ability to close the deal when they had the chance and was being poorly coached.I agree with Jerry Heathman’s letter (“Embarrassed by Saturday’s ‘fan,’” Nov. 7), in which he points out the amount of investment we’ve made in the program. I disagree, however, with everything else. Under Kirk Ferentz we can’t get through a season without falling on our faces at least once.Fans booed because we are tired of the lack of results in our investment. Our team as a whole has not improved during the season. If we as a fan base are satisfied with this team, then there is no need to keep Ferentz and his staff around. We can get by with a high school coach and save money, but if we want to be good, we need to hold this team accountable for lack of heart and performance.

I can't believe I am even replying to this, it is so ridiculous.....did the Press Citzen actually print this? Yes, I am frustrated with this team as well this year, but to say we can't get thru the season without falling on our faces at least once? To say Ferentz teams lack results? What do you expect...undefeated seasons every year? How about this: 4 JANUARY BOWL GAMES IN A ROW, there's only four other teams in the whole country to do that. But you're right, Ferentz teams are lacking in results, did I mention two Big Ten titles? I didn't?.....yeah we've won the Big Ten twice, we gave Michigan their worst beating ever in the big house under Kirk "lack of results" Ferentz....have absolutley OWNED Minnesota, Penn St. and the Cheeseheads, we even beat Ohio State once. (okay I'll give you that one, but Hayden couldn't beat Ohio State either, for the most part) Beat Florida, LSU and Texas Tech in bowl games, and save for some REALLY bad calls we would've beat Florida again.....had a Heisman runner-up candidate, an Outland Trophy winner.....who by the way went NUMBER 2 in the NFL draft, produced one of the best tight ends in the league, as well as one of the best safety's. (who happen to play on the same team in the NFL) Yeah, I guess you're right.....Kirk "lack of results" Ferentz needs to move on. I understand the frustration of this year, but lets go ahead and get our facts straight before we start tossing out willy nilly acusations of "lack of results" under Ferentz.

ELECTION

Well,
I hope the American people have realized what they've done by electing a bunch of liberals.
They are going to try like hell to undo everything Bush has done. You know those nice tax cuts we got that jump started this economy....probably will be gone....get ready for higher taxes, a push to weaken the military and intellegence agency's. (ala slick willie)
And now we have ULTRA LEFT WHACK-O Nancy Pelosi will be third in line to run the most powerful country in the world.
BAD! BAD! BAD!
Do you really think someone like her would have the moral conviction to defend this country should the need arise?
Do you really think she could push the button?
Hell no, she couldn't.
She'll want to sit down at the "negotiating" table and "talk"
Maybe we should throw a little hissy fit like the dems did back in 2000....oh oh oh...voter fraud, recount, recount!
You stole the election!

EXCELLENT LETTER!!

The lady who wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in Atlanta. She recently wrote a letter to a family member serving in Iraq....... Read it!
*****************
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children, die a hor rible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia. I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured that I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is co mplaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutelybelieve in your heart of hearts that I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and ---- you guessed it --- I don't care!!!!!!!! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your e-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
--"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world.
But, the Marines don't have that problem."
-- Ronald Reagan "the great communicator"
I have another quote that I would like to add AND...I hope you forward this such as I have.
"If we ever forget that we're One Nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." also by... Ronald Reagan
