Political Leaders Express Outrage, Support for 'Scooter' Libby's Commuted Sentence

Before all you left wing nut jobs get out of control with this.....it was a screwed up deal to begin with, I'm not going to go into the details here if you don't already know them....but child molesters get less time and fines than Libby did.....and nobody was actually charged with the original crime they were trying to hang on somebody.
Make no mistake, the Democats couldn't get what they wanted out of this deal, so they had to do something....so Bush turns around and commutes his sentence....classic...I love it!
(wich is not in any way shape or form a pardon, by the way)

You Decide: Animal Cruelty?
Uh....you friggin' right it's animal cruelty....do we do things lots of things to animals we don't do to each other...of course....however dragging each other behind a van is NOT one of them.
All the people that wrote on that blog that said things to the effect of, "Well, maybe the farmer tried everythimg else."
Guess what...keep trying!
You don't just hook an animal up to a van and start dragging it around because it's not where it's supposed to be.
Do I think we should use animals to try and cure cancer...sure...that's a whole different ball game though folks....it's called serving the greater good...dragging a bull around from a van by it's horns serves no greater purpose that we all can benefit from.
Pretty sure I'm just big enough to hook this piece of work up to my town car, and drag his ass around for awhile.
Ridiculous.

TOP 10 KILLERS OF MEN

Hey everybody, I saw this on the 'net from the Mayo Clinic (wich I have been to)
and I thought it may be helpful.
One thing I did notice was that almost EVERY SINGLE one of them lists "DON'T SMOKE"
as a way to help prevent these.
HEART DISEASE
CANCER
STROKE
CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE
And the list goes on....
After seeing what smoking has done to 3 of my freinds over the last six years, I would urge you to do everything you can to get anyone you know who smokes to quit.
It's disgusting, it stinks, and is expensive.
And believe me, I'm not trying to "cast the first stone" here......because I know I drink too much beer.
On the other hand, beer isn't going to rot me from the inside out.
(come on, I don't drink that much..usually)
Well anyway, I'll get off my soap box.....

Suspect Arrested for Kidnapping and Murdering Kansas Teen Kelsey Smith

A couple things about this story:
First of all, you wouldn't believe how fast the community down here mobilized to find her. Within a day they had flyers up, a website, several hundred volunteers looking for her, and t-shirts printed, it was really amazing.
Unfortunately it takes something like this for people to forget whatever differences they may have with one another and come together as unified entity for one cause.
Number two:
Yeah, you know what's coming here......kill this guy, hang him from the highest tree, pole, or cliff side you can find. This crap has to stop! Obviously what we're doing isn't working, rehab, second chances, whatever.
All you ultra liberals out there who think all that feel good stuff works...guess what... you're wrong....again!
We need to send a clear, in no uncertain terms message, you kill somebody you will be executed, period.
That's the only way to stop this bull*hit.
Maybe if this guy they arrested for it, KNEW FOR SURE in no uncertain terms he would die for kidnapping and murdering her, he would've thought for just a second about it, and that might've been enough. Just maybe.
But isn't that better than the alternative, after the fact?
If enacting the death penalty everywhere saves ONE young person, or any person for that matter, isn't it worth it?
Even JUST ONE.
That one could be your daughter, wife, husband, neighbor, son, best freind.

Dwight: Fans deserve well-behaved players

Veteran says commissioner right to clean up NFL's image:
Folks,
the former Iowa City High star has hit this right on the head. These guys who think they are above everybody and everything have to answer to somebody.
Despite what Charles Barkley would have you believe, they are role models....that is part of the job.
Okay....I'll give you maybe they don't have to be Mr. straight laced like Dwight says here.
Obviously the NFL is going to have strict enforcement on your off the field activities.
You know, there's some jobs you can't have if you have a DWI on your record....or a drug conviction...or even any type of felony.
The NFL is doing the same thing here as far as I see it. They have an image to protect, and they are going to protect it.
That's their call if they decide to make that a "job requirement"
If you want to work here, this is what we expect wether your at work or not.
These are the rules, you can either live or die by them, your choice.
I'd venture to say 90% of the NFL players wouldn't be making the money they're making had they not been born with size, speed and balance. Granted lots of them work very hard to maintain that......like the aforementioned Mr. Dwight.
But lets face it, although he is my favorite all time Hawkeye... had the Gods not reached down and turned his legs into lightning bolts when he was born, at 5'8, 185 lbs....he's not playing in the NFL.
Anyway, I'm glad to see Dwight come out and say this stuff......
What a great representative he still is for the University of Iowa, and Iowa City as a whole.

Polar depths yield hundreds of weird species

WHAAAAATTTTT?!?!!?!?!?!!
How can this be?
I thought global warming was killing everything......this just isn't possible.
Somebody call ALGORE!!!
Holy hole in the ozone batman. (NOT)
So if we're just now finding all these creatures obviously they've been here for quite sometime....therefore the "warming of the oceans" isn't killing them at all....in fact it may be PRODUCING life if anything.
So maybe all this was supposed to happen. Maybe the Earth is supposed to warm up....who knows....well...one person knows....and pretty sure he isn't talking.
More evidence against the global warming myth.
All you alarmist, ultra left libs out there.....keep it up....you're really making yourselves look bad.
Hell, keep it up and we've already won the white house in '08.
I luv it!!!
**************
Well, we won our spring softball league.
We ended up 9-1.....we lost the very first game of the year....then went on a 9 game streak...in wich we averaged almost 18 runs a game...while giving up just under 7 runs per outing...wich is a difference of 11 runs a game...for our efforts we won championship T-shirts and probably qualified for some national tourney somewhere or something....but we probably won't go to that one.
Anyway, have a good weekend!

Have a heart; send coordinates: Sprint tracks down boy for transplant

Neat story about Sprint (my company) and how they have most assuredly at the very least given a young boy a second chance at life:

When you’re on the waiting list for a heart transplant, you never know when the call will come. For a 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy named John, that call came on Saturday, May 5, but it went unheard. That’s because John and his mother Sue were enjoying a jazz concert at Slippery Rock University. The clock was ticking, but Sue heard only the music. Officials at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh called state police because they couldn’t reach the boy’s parents to let them know a donor heart had been found. As the minutes passed, the boy was in danger of missing his opportunity for a transplant. Then Sprint’s electronic surveillance team in corporate security stepped into the picture, immediately providing the GSP coordinates of Sue’s wireless phone. “The only time you can use it is life or death, or to track someone wanted in a homicide,” said state police Cpl. James Green. Otherwise, police must get a warrant from the judge. Using the GPS coordinates Sprint provided, police tracked Sue’s phone to a Slippery Rock University building. Police stopped the concert and took the stage, explaining why they were looking for the boy and his mother. The crowd of approximately 500 jumped to their feet and applauded the boy as he left, according to Steve Hawk, a music professor who conducted the concert. “I’ve been in the entertainment business for 30 years and never had such an emotional, shocking event happen at something live,” Hawk told the local Butler Eagle newspaper. At last report after the transplant, John is in critical but stable condition. As a Sprint employee, you can feel proud our company was able to Be the Reason a child received a second chance at a healthy life. The story was carried on various news outlets, and bloggers weighed in positively. Here are some excerpts from several blog sites:
OK, Something Good Finally Came of All This Big-Brotherism … I know that this story will end up being used as fuel by those who want to track every citizen of the US, everywhere. But, in a rare instance, the normally-excessive Big Brotherism has actually done some good for once. Seems a kid needed a heart transplant, and the police’s ability to get Sprint Nextel to fork up the coordinates of his mother’s cell phone proved key to getting him into the hospital for it in time. The audience at the jazz concert the boy and his mother were at, jumped up to give them a standing ovation after police interrupted the concert to announce the available heart and find the two. Police can only use the tracking without a warrant in cases of life or death, or when looking for a homicide suspect. The operation was successful ..."
“This would directly fall into the "To Serve and protect" category. I cannot think of a better use for cop time and technology. I read enough about bad cops, and bad people it's nice to hear about something working out well.”
“Props for a Cell phone company doing something GOOD for the commonwealth.”
“Cell phone company working FOR the people? That's refreshing.”
“I just read this out aloud to my GF and she loved it. We don't get enough good news stories like this.”
“For a change, I have to say something was not only handled well but extraordinary. I mean the kid got a heart the technology made it possible to find him and get him and the heart together exactly what technology of this sort was designed for.”

Italy: Who?
South Korea: Do they even know what the death penalty is?
Spain: Sorry, the Spanish Inquisition is no more.

Report: Serial Killers Cleared by Iranian Supreme Court as Victims' Activities Were Un-Islamic

The Iranian Supreme Court has vacated the murder convictions of a group of serial killers because their victims were engaging in un-Islamic activities, the British Broadcasting Corp. reports.
The men were convicted for a series of grisly killings in the southeastern city of
Kerman in 2002. The vigilantes were said to believe that Islam condoned the killing of anyone engaged in illicit activities if they issued two warnings to the victims, the BBC reports.
At least 18 people were killed on the murder spree, but the men were only tried for five of the deaths. Some of the victims were stoned, others were suffocated and at least one man was buried alive, according to the vigilantes' confessions.
These men told the court that their understanding of the teachings of one Islamic cleric allowed them to kill
immoral people if they had ignored two warnings to stop their bad behavior, according to the BBC.
The
Supreme Court has overturned the verdict of a lower court that found all the men guilty of murder five times, according to lawyers for the victims' families. The vigilantes may still be liable for monetary damages.
See folks, this what we're fighting against.
Unfortunately this story doesn't specifically say what that included. My guess is they were practicing Christianity or writing articles, or blogs, (maybe not un-like this one) that were "un-Islamic".
They want everybody to think and act like them, there is no wiggle room.
These guys killed 18 people, because they didn't agree with what they were doing.
They weren't child molesters, they weren't rapists, or any such thing.
They killed these people as according to their belief.
This is what the Islamo-facists do. This is what they will do to us, if we don't wake up and smell the coffee.
They are brutal barbarians who will murder...all in the name of religion.
Of course we can never really engage them, because they are chicken *hit, and kill women and children as their first priority.
Not to mention sending women and CHILDREN on suicide bombing missions.
That's all for today guys!
Support the troops!

See folks.....this is what democat liberals want...YOU to be dependent on THEM.
They're answer for EVERYTHING is MORE REGULATION, MORE GOVERNMENT.
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
By the way, Mr. Kerry...don't go away mad, just go away.

So, Regis...a Catholic High School has produced a two time NFL mvp and super bowl champion mvp (Warner)

Pretty impressive I'd say.

Whatever Stevie.
I'm still campaigning for Dana Altman from Creighton...a Bluejay to a Hawkeye!!

Okay everybody, have a good evening!
We have our second league night this week for spring ball...we're 1-1 right now. Maybe I'll let ya know how we did tomorrow....and maybe not....depends on how we do...isn't that terrible? Ah well, I'll get over it!

There's a hero,If you look inside your heart,You don't have to be afraid of what you are,There's an answer,If you reach into your soul,And the sorrow that you know will melt away.[chorus]And then a hero comes along,With the strenght to carry on,And you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive,So when you feel like hope is gone,Look inside you and be strong,And you'll finally see the truth that a hero lies in you. It's a long road,When you face the world alone,No one reaches out a hand for you to hold,You can find love,If you search within yourself,And the emptiness you felt will disappear.[chorus]Lord knows,Dreams are hard to follow,But don't let anyone tear them away,Hold on,There will be tomorrow,In time you'll find the way.[chorus]That a hero lies in.....you______Ooohh that a hero lies in.....you_____________

His dad and another buddy of mine spent the night in Lees Summit at my house Thursday night on thier way to the meet from Iowa City......we hit a couple bars, had a good time.

My finace's son got his drivers license this weekend also. (yay for him)
Oh, I bought a new set of wheels as well....(er...new to me) 2000 Lincoln Town Car, pretty nice only 57,000 miles on it....well...58,000 now..heh heh.
