Okay, the big game is tomorrow!
7:00 pm PRIME TIME on ABC to a NATIONAL audience. It doesn't get any better than this!
Our Hawkeyes have had problems with Ohio State....in recent memory we've beaten them in 1984 (this was the game we broke Keith Byars leg, they're hotshot tailback) 1987 (the Marv Cook miracle) 1991 (after the Gang Lu shootings, nobody was beating us that day) and 2004...and that's about it.
(please correct me if I'm wrong on any of these)
Of course the most bitter defeat was to the Buckeyes in 1985 in the driving rain....we were ranked # 1 and Ohio St came out and beat our butts...Chuck Long and company couldn't get it going.
I remember being at "The Fieldhouse" in downtown Iowa City for that one....that was a long night....heh heh. But, we still went on to win the Big Ten and go to The Rose Bowl, wich I went to...and...well......Ronnie Harmon four fumbles....I'll stop there.
All in all, we've been able to play with and beat everybody in the Big Ten except Ohio St.... even the cess pool of the East, Michigan (hell we gave them they're worst defeat EVER in the big house) and the dreaded monster in Happy Valley, Penn St. For some reason or another the Buckeyes just have our number.
Hopefully with the 13th man @ Kinnick tomorrow (that'd be us, the fans) we can get a little payback on them and they're national title hopes.
As long as we don't go 3 and out on the first couple of drives with no points, we'll be fine.
Come on Hawks, I'm not driving all the way from K C to see a shit game!
