Texas Executes 'Railroad Killer' Angel Maturino Resendiz

Don't you just love how the Mexican Cosulate says,
"We do look after the rights of Mexican nationals," Consul General Carlos Gonzalez said. "We watch to make sure the law is applied fairly to a Mexican national."
Hey there Carlos...this just in..he was here ILLEGALLY anyway. "Making sure the law is applied fairly to a Mexican national."
Whatever Carlos. The point is, he wasn't supposed to be here at all, he has no rights in this country....end of story. They should've shot him dead when he was walking across the bridge.

Andrea Yates Cries in Court After Seeing Video of Dead Children:
GOOD! As well she should, crazy bitch.
"Oh, I didn't know what I was doing from post martum depression"
Uh-huh. That's why the one little kid got away from you, and you had the presence of mind to chase him around the house for god knows how long.......
Guess what, Andrea?
I was suffering from "You're the devil walking on Earth" disease when my spinning back kick turned your lights out for good. I didn't know what I was doing, I thought she was the devil and needed to be destroyed your honor.
Do you think that defense will work for me, Andrea? Do you?
Only I didn't take out a bunch of defenseless little kids....I took YOU out...a murdering, whack job, who really doesn't deserve the article I'm writing about her now. I don't care what you're suffering from, YOU DON'T GET TO KILL YOUR KIDS, LUCIFER!
Now, go away.

I mean, I get the E coli thing and yes that would be bad.
But what are the chances of that? I guess i'm not a milk expert.

Lance Armstrong riding RAGBRAI

This is a huge deal for my home state, folks! How cool though, I wonder if he'll be staying overnight in a tent at S T Morrison Park in Coralville, Iowa?
We've got "Superman Returns" opening tomorrow night with Brandon Routh (from Des Moines) and know Lance is comin' to town...pretty cool!
-----------------------------------------------------
Another letter from a Socialist, apeaser who thinks we can "reason" with terrorists.
My reply is below the letter.
------------------
Do better than just ideology
Ideologies are belief systems that do not rely upon objective reality for their validation. They are often like small boxes that fill quickly with simplistic ideas and do not allow new ideas to come in. Objective reality and "the facts" become secondary. People are very slow to change perceptions that are based on ideology. A recent poll showed that some 40 percent of Americans still think the Iraq war was a good idea.
Radical Muslims hate western ideologies. They believe our obsessive sexuality, competition, self indulgence and lack of reverence are satanical. To them, we represent evil. They do not accept our ideas of "freedom," "democracy" and "liberation" the way they so easily roll out of President Bush's mouth. He speaks as if there were some shared sense of objective reality to these concepts.
Ideologies are important to everyone. Ideologies create social order and culture. We cannot live sane lives without them. However, when it comes to political action, we need to place our ideologies on hold and not make them our default setting. They just get in the way of finding useful compromises to difficult social issues and international problems.
By definition, ideologies, if forced upon others with different beliefs, can only result in conflicts that continue as long as any one ideology believes it must prevail. If it does prevail, we then have a social order in which freedom, constitutional democracy and personal liberty mean nothing.
We can do better. We can expand tolerance. We can address the real problems that will shape the lives of our children and grandchildren. These problems and issues are more numerous, dangerous and difficult than at any time in our history.
Don Van HulzenIowa City
--------------------------------
TSK TSK TSK.......Don, Don, Don......
I like the way you throw around the word "compromises" and "tolerance"
Do you understand you wouldn't be able to write stuff like this if the Radical Muslims win?
There will be no "tolerance" and there will be no "compromise" you do it their way, or you will be killed, period.
Are you paying attention, Don? For a former Administrator of a hospital, you're not to bright are ya there Donny boy?
Let me list off a few reasons here for you Don as to why these people know no such thing as "compromise" or "tolerance"
1. Dead marines in Beruit
2. Khobar Towers
3.U S S Cole
4.WTC bombing part 1
5. WTC bombing part 2 (airplanes flown into buildings)
I could go on, but I think you get the picture don't you Don? hello? Don? Earth to Don!!
Thi sguy is the reason the terrorists think they can win. They think we're week, and would rather "negotiate" than fight them. I guess they're finding out different aren't they, Don!
Buh-Bye now!
Idiot.

Angel statue out of place in park

A letter to the Peoples Republic of Iowa City (er...The Iowa City Press Citizen) My response is below the letter
-------------
Every time I am in City Park and see that angel statue with very large wings, I question why that it has been placed in a public location. The U.S. Constitution guarantees separation of church and state. No religious icon should be placed in a public place.
Dorothy M. Paul
Iowa City
--------------------------
Another dumb ass letter about seperation of church and state.
For the umpteenth time, you have freedom OF religion in this country...not freedom FROM religion.
It's a statue of an angel......besides you don't know for sure it's a religious symbol. Maybe it's a depiction of "The Angel" from the movie "X-men The Last Stand"
Sure, that sounds ridiculous...but no more so than you're little rant about "A religious icon"
Fine then, how about this, we'll construct a statue of Mohammed, a Menorah, and I know how about a statue of nothing, to represent whatever it is you believe in, Dorothy.
-------------------------------------------
COUNCIL WORKING TO BAN TOY GUNS:
The Dallas City Council wants to move fast on an ordinance that would ban the sale of realistic looking toy guns.
Federal law already requires toy guns to have an orange cap on the barrell, but some don't. Council members said they want to make those guns - which look real - illegal.
At a public safety meeting Monday council members worried that officers would believe a toy gun is real and shoot someone.
"This is a tragedy waiting to happen," said council member Mitchell Rasansky.
A new law could follow other cities leads and make it illegal for the fake firearm to be displayed or brandished in public. Although brightly colored guns and transparent guns, such as water guns, could be excluded.
The council hopes to continue studying the innitiative until its August public safety meeing. It should then go to the full council for a vote.
-----------------------
Believe it or not, I'm for this.
I usually don't like the government forcing their way into our lives, but this is a safety issue for everyone concerned. There a couple kids in our neighborhood with those "air gun" deals, and I tell ya what, if you're two feet away you can't tell those aren't real.

Cage-free eggs is the way to go

Poor, misguided soul.
Another letter to the editor about "cage free chickens"
let me just say this,
"THEY'RE CHICKENS!"
That is all.
---------------------------------
I support the cage-free egg program at the University of Iowa. As a UI student who lives in the residence halls, I feel that by having these eggs we are supporting the community and a healthier lifestyle as well as enabling people from various dietary backgrounds to enjoy the campus dinning.
I have meet many students in the dorms who follow strict dietary guidelines, many which prohibit consumption of genetically processed or cruelly treated food. These students have been suffering in the dinning halls because they feel they cannot eat there, yet the university makes them buy a meal plan. The program has opened their eating possibilities. I also encourage this program for the support it gives to the local community.
By having such a large, Big Ten school support such a program, we are directly encouraging other large schools across the nation to do the same.

A letter in the Iowa City Pres Citizen today
Clinic celebrates BLT Night:

This June marks the 15th anniversary of BLT Night by the Emma Goldman Clinic. It is an evening where as a community non-profit, we provide free health care to the bisexual, lesbian and transgendered women's community, hence, BLT.
From 4 to 8 p.m. June 15, those in the BLT communities will receive free gynecology exams, including a pap and breast exam, sexuality transmitted testing and treatment, HIV testing and referral and health information in a festive and non-judgmental atmosphere.
There are many communities in our area that lack access to health care. The BLT communities are among them. Barriers include no access to health insurance and other financial barriers. Sometimes health care practitioners who are unfamiliar with the needs of BLT individuals may be perceived as being judgmental or disrespectful in their delivery of health care services. Some in the BLT community may have the misconception that it is not necessary to receive preventive reproductive services because of who they engaged with sexually. Our goal is to break down these barriers by providing a free, high quality, safe and respectful experience to the BLT communities.
This winter, the Emma Goldman Clinic offered an African American Women's Health Day. This summer we will be working with Proteus and the UI Mobile Clinic to help provide reproductive health care to migrant camp workers. It is part of our service to the community to be involved with such projects and is part of the $212,200 in services that we subsidized last year as our commitment to increasing financial access to reproductive health care services in our community.
The Emma Goldman Clinic is proud to offer BLT Night. If you are a member of the BLT community and would like to make an appointment, please call us at 337-2112 or 800-848-7684 and check us out on the web at
www.emmagoldman.com.

Fault lies with human, not divine

From a letter to the editor in the Des Moines Register today.
My response follows letter
------------------------
I was pleased to read that Pope Benedict XVI visited the former Auschwitz concentration camp as “a son of the German people.” The picture in the May 29 Register shows the pope walking alone into the camp, while those who accompanied him wait a respectful distance behind. It was a poignant view of a German pope walking respectfully into a camp that witnessed unspeakable acts of horror during World War II.I was disappointed at the pope’s question addressed to God: “Why, Lord, did you remain silent? How could you tolerate all this?” Benedict XVI should have addressed his question to all German, Polish and other Christians who did next to nothing to stop the reign of terror unleashed on the Jews and other people Hitler and his followers butchered. Those who did nothing are the ones to ask, “Why did you, in the name of Jesus, fail to stop the evil that was all around you? Why did the United States fail to intervene when we knew what was going on?”To suggest that God was silent is to miss the point. People, many of whom would have claimed to be Christians — Catholics and Protestants — failed to stop the slaughter. Why? — The Rev. Russell Melby, Ames.
-------------------------
Well, I can't say that I disagree with the good Reverend Russell here.
Again, it goes back to not wanting to get involved, every time we do, the whole world hates us, anytime we don't, the whole world hates us. (except for maybe WWII)
For insatnce the genocide going on in Darfur right now, everybody wants to know how come we aren't stopping it, but the second we go in there it will be, we're after the oil, or diamonds, or whatever the hell they have there.
You know, I recieved an e-mail awhile back about how we should just pull out of everything and everywhere and let the rest of the world fend for themselves, except for England. We will no longer help anybody else with anything. Why should we, all we do is get chastised for it. The next time a third world country gets invaded by Iraq, Iran, or whomever...tough bananas, fight it out yourselves....earthquake, flood, volcano...tough cookies....have at it. We're done pullin' everybody's butts out of the fire.

Where will this all end?

This is from a letter to the editor in the Iowa City Press Citizen, my response is after the letter, and rest assured my response has been sent to said paper.
--------------------------------------
Without a doubt we live in disturbing times. Spurred by very little resistance we entered a war which our recent history (Vietnam) should have prevented us from doing. In addition, our government has phenomonally created a humongous national debt and more billionaires simultaneously. Our middle class population is sliding downward into a credit-card illusion of wealth, our government holds non-charitable attitudes towards the disenfranchised.
Indeed, the Katrina revelation has shaken the bones of a nation which prides itself on rescuing those in need. However, though the unabashed wire tapping comes close, nothing is as frightening to me as the private combat training schools which are rapidly emerging across the nation. ("Minutemen to start on Security fence in Ariz.," May 28.)
When people take up arms (minutemen) and the government allows young civilians who've been nurtured on video game violence to unabashedly learn killing techniques in a "shoothouse" setting, we are in great trouble as a nation. Who knows how long consumerism will hold back the tide of the great divisions now taking place? I shutter to think of the possible repercussions of this killing industry which uses "a fake house, convenience store and bar room" as the settings to learn killing tactics.

Corinne StanleyIowa City

-------------------------------------
Oh Corinne,
a war we enetered with very little resistance? How about seventeen U.N. resolutions over twelve years? Not United Sates resolutions, United Nations resolutions.
Issue number one, you lose.
Our government created billionaires? I know, lets call Bill Gates, Steve Forbes, the Walton family (no not the T V show people, the Wal-mart people) and see just exactly how the government created them.
In fact, if I remeber correctly, the feds tried to get Bill Gates for having an unfair monopoly. So by your logic, they built Microsoft up, just to tear it down, although I wouldn't put something like that past the feds, I'm pretty sure that's not what happened.
Issue number two, you lose.
A credit card illusion of wealth? Damn those feds making people use those credit cards. I know one time I was at this Wal-mart the federal government created, and I was trying to pay cash, and this treasury agent appeared out of nowhere and made me use my credit card.
Issue number three, you lose.
The Katrina "revelation" and just what was that....that the corrupt local government down there created a welfare state that conditioned some people to sit on their *sses and wait for help? Let me tell you something, I WAS THERE , that's right, I went down there with my company and we were helping to rebuild the phone network (I work for a large cell phone company in Kansas City) and ninety percent of the people I talked to were helping themselves, it's just that the ultra left news media only reported on the people that wouldn't help themselves, and blamed it on Bush.
Issue number four, you lose.
Unabashed wire tapping?
Collecting data of what numbers were calling what numbers is unabashed wire tapping? Not only that, we haven't been attacked again in almost five years now. Specifically because of measueres like"unabashed wire tapping"
Issue number five, you lose.
"When people take up arms" (minutemen)
Wow, lets go ahead and have a little history lesson shall we? Without the Minutemen doing what they did during the revolution, you may not have been able to write a letter like you have just written.
It's our basic RIGHT to defend our country, property and our border in any way we have to. The same thing may end up being true in this case, if we don't defend what's ours.
Issue number six, you just lost.
Basically Corrine, you've lost every single issue, badly. Wich is about par for the course, the ultra left wing socialists have been wrong on the wrong side of every single issue thruout our history, look it up. The proof is in the pudding folks.

"Ukrainian TV channel NTN broadcast interviews with witnesses who said the man told them that he wanted to test God, believing that God would not allow the lions to hurt him."

First of all, we don't test the big G.
Secondly, he was obviously thinking of the story from the bible of Daniel and the lions den......key word here being STORY, as in NOT REAL, DIDN'T HAPPEN. Just like Noah and the arc, and Moses leading a bazillion Jews across the desert.....stories, untruths, fiction. Good stories that were meant too teach us a lesson, but stories none the less.
